I googled around a bit for solutions but so far I've found nothing where an actual answer is posted.
I finally got the game to download by using safe mode. ive been able to play since i got the game but it gave me an update warning first then it just wont even let me in at all. What happens when you attempt to open the launcher and accept the update? Have you tried some of the suggestions here such as rebooting your Mac, power cycling your network devices, or bypassing your router and directly connect to the modem with an Ethernet cable? In the Info box, go to the Sharing & Permissions section and click on the lock and unlock it, entering your admin password when prompted.4. Click on the Burst icon (cog wheel) and select Apply to enclosed items If you're on a PC and have this issue, please post in the PC forums, as this is a Mac forum. So, it seems the main culprit of this is the 802.1X option in Advance menu of network settings.

At this time, Compatibility Mode for the retail tools is no longer needed.
I start the launcher and it doesn't show anything but the phrase "Updating Tools (0%)" at the bottom with no progress even after having it open all night and the Play button grayed out...
Also when I tried to install Diablo 3 (real version) from I have it downloaded and installing it gets to a certain point halfway throughout the bar and stops with no further progress even after having it open an entire night as well...
Hey guys , I installed Open beta Diablo 3 today and when i launch it it says initializing in start and then after sometime pops a message " An unexpected Error occurred while updating required files . so i tried closeing the launcher and opening in it again, now it just says : Updating blizzard launcher (0%) Anyone else have this problem?
or any idea how to fix it (i belive this patch have the patch number 17) Try with peer to peer disabled.
